pOeM!

I found this poem on one of my friends blogs and I really just need to do this as a mother.
If I had my child to raise all over again,I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.I'd finger-paint more, and point the finger less.I would do less correcting and more connecting.I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.I'd do more hugging and less tugging.~Diane Loomans (from "If I Had My Child To Raise Over Again")

Horoscope of the day!!!

Ok, so I am now addicted to looking at my horoscope daily. Usually it's not really what my day goes by but todays was soooo on key!!! Here's what is says and remember that we are moving tomorrow and I am packing today...

Gemini (May 21 - Jun 20)
It's a fun day for you, even if you have a lot of work on your plate. Instead of trying to avoid your responsibilities today, just make up your mind to enjoy yourself while doing what you must. If you find yourself daydreaming about how to spend your lottery winnings, bring your thoughts back to the real issues. Remember, whistling while you work is better than sleeping on the job.

8 month wanderer!!!

Ok, well since Sierra turned 8 months she thinks she is "Queen Diva". Well, evidently she is! Today while packing upstairs I left her downstairs to play on the floor. Well, turns out she has been learning new things. I went to the bathroom to get something and then go downstairs as I walked to the stairs Sierra was halfway up the stairs. I looked at her and she looked at me and she knew she was in a sticky situation. She smiled the biggest smile I've ever seen in my life. I just laughed at her and shook my head. Sierra is also waving "bye bye" to her friends and flirting with boys at church.... Oh, and I ordered out pizza and chicken wings from Papa Johns today and she crawled over to me begging for some goods and so I put her on my lap and she just totally downed a chicken wing and a half slice of pizza. Who does this remind you of??? HELLO!!!!!!!! And to make things even more crazy she is attempting to try and walk. What the heck? Talk about keeping up with the Joneses! She is certainly keeping me busy when she's not sleeping which she does a lot of thank goodness =) The boys are doing great and are anxious to move and I am just happy I'm still alive and blessed that Michelle I brought me a 8 pack of Pepsi the other day!!! THANKS!

Sierra's room!!!

Ok, so I am determined to paint Sierra's room when we move into our new home. I'm not even sure if we are allowed to paint but I am 110% positive I will do it even if I'm not allowed to! So, here's the problem. I have the colors but am not sure how to really design and make it look like a fun room for her. The colors are going to be a very soft pink, sage, and cream. I'm also debating whether to put horses or flowers as a theme in her room. Any suggestions??? I am addicted to HGTV.com and found a design that I really like but I want all suggestions and opinions. I am soooo not good with this stuff. Help a desperate decorater!!!!

A new meaning to Iowa Hawkeyes!

For the past two days Mr Hawk has been hanging out at our house. He sits on our telephone pole and talks to us. I now know why they are the Iowa Hawkeyes!!! They are freaking "PERFECT". I have NEVER admired a bird as much as Mr. Hawk. It seems crazy to be talking about a bird but I am in love with him. Mr. Hawk actually let me go really close to him and snap some bad ass pictures of him. I'm so excited!!! Maybe he was just waiting to come and snatch me up but he didn't. I hate to admit this but am now a Hawkeyes fan!!!!!

Just having fun!

So, I was thinking... You probably read my blogs and find them boring. STOP READING THEN... I just enjoy writing and sharing what's going on in my life. Today was a pretty hard day. I finally had to get going on James school search. After about 1 hour of calling people after people and hearing all sorts of situations James would be in I finally got in touch with the right person. It turns out the school he may be going to is only 7 minutes away instead of 30 minutes. Yeah, that's how many stories I got!!! It was crazy. I was very emotional today. I don't know why I'm having such a hard time leaving this place. I guess I'm just very emotionally attached. I've NEVER had a hard time moving across the country and now I'm devistated to be moving 2 hours away. I think it's because this is where my babies roots are. James came here 2 months after he was born and the other two were born here. James had a pretty tough day at school. He seems to be saying the word "stupid" a lot so I'm going to try my hardest to get that word out of our vocab list. It makes me sooo sad when he makes bad choices and then I have to hear it when I pick him up. Makes me feel like a bad mom... NO COMMENTS PLEASE!!!!
Because I was feeling like a bad mom I always feel they get happy when we get a cheeseburger and nuggets from Wendy's, and that's what we did.
To end my "day" my friend Stephanie gave me a Mary Kay makeover. Honest to goodness, I've never wanted to cry so much in my life. It actually was a happy cry because I looked "alive". I haven't felt alive in a few days. We took some candid pictures and they actually came out pretty snazzy! I'll post later!!! Anyways, got home, Jake liked my look and now the kids are asleep and I will be too in a minute because OH MY GOSH I AM EXAUSTED!!!! NIGHT!

Hooray for the Heros!!!

Well, I am so excited, happy, fabulous today!!! Let's see,,, we made it to New Hampshire in 21 hours. We left Thursday morning and arrived Friday afternoon. The kids did absolutely great! We stayed in Buffalo New York and roughed it out with the two double beds. Jaren had one bed to himself and I of course had to share with James and Sierra. James enjoyed snuggling Sierra though which was wonderful. We have been so lucky to have wonderful weather here. I have even been able to get some rays on my grandparents lake which I didn't think would be possible because the forcast said rain, rain, rain, all week.
James and I had a great day yesterday. We climbed MORE than half of Mount Monadnock. Yes, James kept climbing and climbing. He just would NOT stop! We saw lots of fun animals like chipmunks, rabbits, bugs, and birds. I can't imagine a 4 year old doing as much as James did and enjoying it as much as he did. We met these fun people from Washington and Newton MA and they helped us get down the mountain. James is such a trusting person and held the girls hand and walked down the mountain with her and played Tarzan with her husband. Annette and Erick followed us to Kimballs for ice cream and Annettes dad actually bought James a chocolate ice cream cone. SOOO nice!!!
We are so excited to celebrate the 4th of July tomorrow. It is my "favorite" day! It is sooo much better than Christmas for me. I just think of all that has happend in this world and thank all the wonderful "HEROS" for all that they have done for us. I especially LOVE the fireworks. And now that Jake is here we can celebrate! WAHOO!!!! Well, off to bed now! =) I can't wait to post some pictures because the pictures of James climbing are AWESOME!
